Prototype aircraft: Gloster F4/48 (twin) airframe troubles; flown up to 40,000 ft and rolled without any major troubles. Gloster T118D (twin) due March 1953; Handley Page B35/46; first engine due April 1952; Hawker F3/48; English Electric F23/49 (twin) delivery of first two flight engines February 1953. Adder: Total of 1468 hours running time; test position Adders A.12 and A.13 rejected on 2 hour test due to bad handling. Viper: Total 152 hours running time to date.Viper engine V.4 accepted.
