Title
Political Residency, Bushire: additional subject files
Date
1923-1947
Description

These additional subject files are on four separate and unrelated topics:. (financial matters) a volume of completed statements of monthly expenditure incurred by the Khorramshar Office under the Annual Office Allowance and other contract grants, including the Annual Launch Allowance, for 1940-45; (affairs relating to Najd) a file concerning relations between Ibn Sa'ud ['Abd al-'Azīz bin 'Abd al-Raḥmān bin Fayṣal Āl Sa'ūd (Ibn Sa'ūd)] and the Rulers of the Trucial States, 1923-39; (war) a file entitled 'Emergency War Legislation', which deals with the issue of the supplementary judicial powers that would be required by the British administration in the Persian Gulf in the event of war, 1937-39; and (oil) a file entitled 'Status of Kuwait Bay and Extent of Territorial Waters in Kuwait', which concerns the question of Kuwait's territorial sovereignty over Kuwait Bay and the precise extent of Kuwait's territorial waters, for the purpose of settling oil concessions

Arrangement

These files and volumes are additional subject files. They are on unrelated topics, and are not the product of any deliberate arrangement. However, the file references follow the same pattern as the other subject files. Thus, the reference 60/13 VI is composed of the subject reference 60 (Financial), the file number (13), and the part number (VI). In addition, the reference in brackets that follows 79/44 I (S 80)shows that the file belonged also to the series of confidential files, in which S stood for War.
