Application of Thomas Looe of Penzance, merchant and fish-curer. The master of the brig Charlotte, and other persons, swore that, in June 1791 at Liverpool, 1,600 bushels of British salt were shipped on the Charlotte, to be carried coastways to Penzance; high and heavy seas and stormy and tempestuous weather resulted in the loss of 120 bushels, not through any neglect or fault of the crew.

The Master of the brig Alert, and other persons, swore that, in Sep. or Oct. 1790, at Liverpool, 1,080 bushels of British salt were shipped on the Alert to be carried coastways to Penzance; en route, through high and stormy and tempestuous weather, 301 bushels were lost, not through any neglect or fault of the Master, John Bowen, or the crew.
