Gallantry Notes: DCM Citation: 39835 Cpl. H. Sinclair, M.M., 55th Bn., M.G.C. (Malpas) (LG 11 Mar. 1920)
On 21st October, 1918, he showed great gallantry during the advance on Tournai, and the attack on the reservoir. After having four horses wounded by an enemy machine gun, he got his gun into action, and succeeded in silencing an enemy machine gun which was holding up our advance.

MM Citation (from 55 Div Records (Liverpool Libraries) For gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of a gun during the attack on Festubert 9th April and during the subsequenr operations up to 17th April. By his cheerful manner, his coolness and skill in selecting new positions, he kept his team together and his gun in action during days of intense bombardment, firing thousands of rounds until his tripod and gun kit were destroyed by a shell. (Immediate Award) recommended by Lt WT Hall, OC "B" Coy 55 Bn MGC, Lt Col HW Bolton, Cdg 55 Bn MGC and Brig L Boyd-Moss, Cdg 165 Inf Bde. Signed by Maj Gen H Jeudwine, Cdg 55 Div.;
