Includes pedigree of descendents of William Falkner of the Cliffe, grocer, 1718-1784; contract copy sale particular for the property with a house and cottage in Broyle Lane, Ringmer to be sold at auction by J R Thornton at the White Hart Hotel, 9 Mar 1909. In 1686 John Wade, tailor, conveyed first a house and gardens and second a house called the Greyhound to Richard Isted, gent in trust for his wife Elizabeth and two daughters Elizabeth Faulkner and Joan Wade. In 1784 Mrs Cook and Mrs Bridger, granddaughter and great granddaughters of Elizabeth Faulkner conveyed the first property to George Verrall, upholsterer. He died in 1801 leaving it to his son Thomas who mortgaged it to John Farncombe in 1809 and sold to Richard Martin, chemist and druggist in 1828. Martin died in 1857 leaving it to his son Charles who died in 1868 and whose widow Elizabeth died in 1880. In 1905 Thomas Martin died and it was sold to William Thomas Martin. In 1909 he and his mortgagees sold to Henry Stacey of West Firle, farmer.
