TURC Subject and Correspondence Files

Subject files tend to be specific in their subject matter and are primarily concerned with operational aspects of the Centre. Correspondence files tend to be much more diverse in their content, and also provide a glimpse of TURC’s campaigning role. Collectively, these files provide an insight to the operations and campaigning activities of TURC and issues affecting the Centre. The network of contacts within the labour movement locally, nationally and internationally can also be discerned from these records
Correspondence files are generally organized by date order, resulting in a range of subjects being kept together. The files should be viewed as a series, as correspondence is generally divided between incoming and outgoing letters [although occasionally copy correspondence and replies will be filed together].
