Description (What the record is about)
-
Will write to Miss W[illiams] who may know the answer to RG's question, because the Smyths, Pouletts and Ashburnhams were all mixed up together, and she is writing the Smyth papers. The answer may be found when the vault is opened up. Fuller is back working in the kitchen, and Leslie returns from London next Monday. Might have been [by marriage] various baronesses - Dingwall, Strange and Lucas - 'but for a wrong turn of events', but prefers her ancient 'squatters name of Ashburnham'; the only point of being a peeress is going to the Abbey for coronations, of which she has been to two.
