Parties. 1. Isaac Wilkinson of Chesterfield, county of Derby, Esq.

2. Edward Downes of Shrigley, county of Chester, Esq., eldest son and heir at law of Peter Downes late of Butley, county of Chester, Esq., dcsd.

Signed and sealed; Isaac Wilkinson.

Witnesses of sealing and delivery (endorsed); Thos.Cooke, Geo.E. Dale.

Release from mortgage on consideration of 5s. paid under Indenture of Lease (Bargain and Sale) for term of one year of date 1 October 1792 between the parties, of certain chief rents, residue of an estate: created by Indentures of Lease and Release 1 & 2 February 1786, the release being 3-part, 1. Sir Foster Cunliffe of Saighton, co.Chester, Bt., 2.Peter Downes (by his addition therein), 3. Isaac Wilkinson, being a mortgage for £6,000 owed by Downes to Wilkinson: bequeathed in Trust by Peter Downes (d.28 March 1791) under his Will 5 February 1791 (whereby he appointed his son Edward Downes, the Rev. Henry Offley Wright and Lawrence Wright his executors & in which he bequeathed to Edward Downes all his real estate subject to the trust) to the Rev. Henry Offley Wright of Mottram Saint Andrew, co.Chester, clerk, and Lawrence Wright Esq his eldest son and heir, for 1,000 years, for the discharge of all Peter Downes's debts out of the issues of the estate, and for securing £9,000 for his younger children's portions: in discharge whereof, with Edward Downes's consent, the Wrights sold outright all the estate mortgaged (by Indentures 1& 2 February 1786) except the chief Wilkinson with £6,000; wherefore Wilkinson now agrees to release the residue of the mortgaged estate:-- chief rents of 13s.4d. per ann. from lands in Torkington, co.Chester, the inheritance of Peter Legh of Boothes, Esq., 1s. in Taxal, co.Chester, late the inheritance of John Shallcross Esq., 3s.8d. from a messuage & tenement in Tytherington, co.Chester, late inheritance of John Hough.
