Wesleyan Methodist worship began in Burghfield in 1811, when a house at Sheffield Mills was registered as a place of worship. Another house on Burghfield Heath was registered in 1813. A chapel or meeting house was built in 1836. The church closed after Methodist union and the society merged with Burghfield Common Church (D/MS26). Almost all of its records appear to have been lost. It was in Reading Wesleyan Circuit.
