Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. As soon as the final objective in an attack had been gained, he got his gun into position and gave very valuable assistance in silencing snipers' fire while the infantry were consolidating. He was also largely responsible for checking a counter attack, and inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy.

Bar to MC: for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Under heavy artillery fire this officer continued to fight his guns until they were all destroyed. He then took command of, and fought two guns which were without an officer. Two days later, he took his one remaining gun into action in a very exposed position under heavy rifle and machine gun fire and inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. He displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty throughout the operations,;
