Description

a. Instructions for affidavits to be made by Thomas Farnall, corkcutter, Thomas Cowduck, shoemaker, and others concerning a riot. The mob, encouraged by Alderman Parker went huzzaing to the Cross shouting "down with the Rumps, and then went to the White Talbott and broke the windows. 2ff.

b. Copy of writ of 7 Nov., 7 Geo II 1733, to William Edwards, George Shone, Thomas Bingley, Duncan Mackdogan, Daniel Partridge; John Reece, Elisha Massey, John Waker, and others to appear in King's Bench at Westminster upon an information for a riot and misdemeanours.

g. Draft of form of affidavit concerning the riot.

Informations having been granted by the Justices of the King's Bench against the deponents, upon the affidavits of two of the Aldermen and Justices of the Peace, for insulting and threatening the Mayor, Recorder Aldermen and J.Ps. The deponents say that if the offences with which they are charged are tried in the Portmote, they will not have an impartial trial. 1f.
