This grouping was created in 2024 for manuscript items associated with Henry Cavendish. HY/12/1 is his "White Book": stated to be the only known notebook of Cavendish's in existence. In 2002, loose leaves were removed from this volume. These are now catalogued in HY/12/2. HY/12/3 is the catalogue for Henry Cavendish's library, complied by his librarian Charles (or Karl) Heydinger at the end of the 18th century.
