Description

The boundary between Rhodesia and Mozambique, North and South of the Zambesi, was described by a Procès-verbaux in 1904 and approved by an Agreement in 1911. The following are included:. Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission. North of the Zambesi. 1904. Angle Book 1 to 7. Bound volume of 7 Angle Books. Book 1 includes a 4-page introduction to the survey, translated by Lt. E.W. Cox R.E. from an original of unknown language. Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission. North of the Zambesi. 1904. Angle Book 8 to 14. Bound volume of 7 Angle Books. Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission. [South of the Zambesi[. 1905. Angle Book 1 to 8. Bound volume of 8 Angle Books. Book 1 includes 2 letters received by Lt. E.W. Cox R.E. from a Portuguese surveyor (in French). Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission. [South of the Zambesi]. 1905. Angle Book 9 to 15. Bound volume of 7 Angle Books. 'Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission, south of the Zambesi, 1905.' Summary data, including mean lengths of sides, mean latitudes and longitudes of stations, and mean azimuths and reverse azimuths. Printed; 34 x 21cm. 3 pages, recto and verso. (DS 330 A). 'Anglo-Portuguese Boundary Commission, south of the Zambesi, 1905.' Copy of above. Typescript, with manuscript additions in coloured ink and pencil; 34 x 21cm. 7 pages, recto only. Also 1 envelope. (DS 330 A (Copy)). The observations obtained from these angle books were used in the production of the following maps:. Topographical Section, General Staff No. 2132, Anglo-Portuguese Boundary North and South of the Zambesi, Scale 1:250,000 in 7 sheets dated 1906 and filed at Maps MOD TSGS 2132; compilation material is also held at that reference. Topographical Section, General Staff No. 2268, Triangulation Chart, Anglo-Portuguese Boundary, (North & South of the Zambesi.) 1904-05. Scale 1:1,000,000 dated 1907 and filed at Maps MOD TSGS 2268. Geographical Section, General Staff No. 2610, Anglo-Portuguese Boundary North and South of the Zambesi, Scale 1:1,000,000 dated 1912 and filed at Maps MOD GSGS 2610.
