Description: There are two series of registers until about 1898: the registers for the election of the two parliamentary members for the Borough (DH/B 139) and the ward registers for the election of councillors, auditors and assessors (DH/B 140). The registers, 1898-1913 are missing. From 1918 there is only one series of registers (DH/B 141). There were no registers produced during the war years, 1914-1917 and 1940-1944. DH/B 139/45-63 were in force from 1 January (inclusive) in the stated year to 1 January (exclusive) in the next year, unless otherwise stated. The voters are listed by parish and there is a separate list of freemen at the end.
