Description (What the record is about)
-
Letter from Daniel Price to his uncle.
He has received his note of 26th; he is anxious to join his sisters, but thinks it would be folly to leave his father's affairs in an unsettled state as there is now little to do. He has written his uncle a letter which he will get his father to sign explaining the transactions with his Aunt. He supposes their half of the United shares may at once be delivered to the Snapes. When he gets to Florence he will let his uncle know whether his mother left a will, and he asks "Has she the power to leave the money you have to any one he pleases? What is the precise amount?" He thinks it would be an endless business to divide so small an amount of interest among them all; the interest he believes is due on 2 May & he wishes to know if they will pay the amount into his bankers on that day if his mother's will should not leave it for her children, which he thinks very improbable. If he understands him rightly his uncle will require a note from Margaret, Sarah & Amelia in their own names; Fanny signed by her & Kay and Catherine by her and Niccolini.
Note. his bankers are Sir Chs.Price & Co.
Written from London.
