United Kingdom: England, southeast coast: Kent. 'A Plan of the Intended Harbour and Wet Dock in St Nicholas Bay in the Isle of Thanet and the Canal leading from thence to Canterbury'. Survey shows coastline, hydrography, buoys, jetties, topography, land use (salts), farms (Port Farm and Poors Farm), roads, settlements, buildings, military installations, remarks and explanatory key (including refernce to owners, reputed owners and occupiers of land). Coloured. Engraved. North point (orientation to the northwest bearing north) with compass indicator and magnetic north indicated. Scale 3.8 inches to 1 mile or 8 furlongs. 'Surveyed by Samuel Jones August 1810'; engraved by V [Vincent] Woodthorpe, London. Endorsed (in black ink): 'Plan for an Harbour in St Nicholas Bay and for a Canal to Canterbury vide [see] 59. 10 -'
