Description

No annual returns survive for the Lodge at the The Cock, Cornhill, Banbury [Antients] but there is correspondence relating to the general running of the lodge. Years 1795 - 1799, 1802 - 1805 and 1807 - 1811 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The lodge was established in 1771 but was never named. In 1771 the lodge met at the Ram inn, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire but in 1794 the lodge moved to Banbury, Oxfordshire meeting at the White Lion in the High Street. In 1801 the lodge moved to The Cock, Cornhill, Banbury. The lodges last entry was in 1801 but it remained in the lists in Ahiman Rezon until 1813.
