Description

Lease for 18 years at £30 rent: Edward, Earl of Oxford and Mortimer to William Soresbey of Chesterfield, gent. :-- All coal delfs and mines in the lands of the Earl, tenanted by W.S., in the hundred of Scarsdale; in all waste land belonging to such lands where the Earl owned mineral rights; and in the Earl's lands in the manor of Barley (except delfs and mines already leased by the Earl to any persons other than Thomas Brailsford and Francis Clay)--: Witn. Richd. Marples, John Morley. (see also DD/P 59/23).

Endorsed with Memorandum that lease was shown to Edward Dewsall, gent. and Charles Walmsley on their examination in Chancery in action by Henrietta, Dowager Countess of Oxford and Mortimer v. W.S.
