Assignment: George, Earl of Orkney and Elizabeth his wife, to Thomas Brodrick of Wandsworth, co. Surrey, esq., and William Lowndes of Winslow, co. Bucks., esq.: whereas the King has, by warrant of 27th June 1701, signified his will that £10,200 be paid at the Exchequer to Henry Ferne for use of said Elizabeth, Countess of Orkney; now said Earl and Countess assign to said Thomas and William all their right in the said warrant and moneys contained therein, in trust for the sole use of said Elizabeth; after her death, any moneys not disposed by her in purchase of lands, (etc.), to be settled upon said Earl for life, remainders to their son or sons and heirs male; if there be any daughters, trustees to raise £4,000 to be divided among them as they attain the age of 21 years or be married; if the said Elizabeth die leaving daughters only, then, after death of said Earl, interest from the monies to go to the daughters in equal shares; if said Elizabeth die without either sons or daughters, monies to go to said Earl, his executors, administrators and assigns.
