South Atlantic Ocean: St Helena
'Survey of the Island of St Helena'. Chart shows coastline, hydrography, anchorages, topography, settlements, buildings, land marks, sight lines, remarks, explanatory key. Colour manuscript. North point with compass indicator showing true and magentic north (orientation to the south). Scale: 6.1 inches to 3 miles. Attributed to Captain Robert Wauchope, His Majesty's Ship Eurydice, as suggested by annotation and Lieutenant Alexander Becher. Annotated assignation: 'R Wauchope'. Estimated date: 1816 according to the 1814 Navy List page 56 - 1814, Eurydice, St Helena, Captain Robert Wauchope 19 April 1816
