Administrative / biographical background

Bradford Dyers Association was formed in 1898. It was an amalgamation of 27 firms controlling the management of fabric dyeing in the Bradford area.. By c1905 the majority of dyers had joined the association (others merging into the British Cotton and Wool Dyers). In 1964 it was taken over by Viyella International.
