The Salisbury branch of the Anglo-Rhodesian Society was established in 1966. With the creation of the independent Republic of Zimbabwe in 1980, the Society was dissolved and the Anglo-Zimbabwe Society formed. Branches were invited to join the new organisation; Salisbury declined and the branch was dissolved in June 1980
