This collection contains upwards of 560 drawings in watercolours, sepia, or Indian ink, besides pencil drawings and numerous etchings, line and mezzotint engeravings by G. Vertue, Houbraken, Knapton, T. Worlidge, etc. These drawings were specially executed for the Earl of Aylesford about the year 1821. The collection was intended to illustrate a large paper copy of the 2nd edition of Dugdale's Antiquities of Warwickshire.
