These are a small group of papers of the Landor family gathered together by Walter Noble Landor of Rugeley, a wellknown local antiquary. Their contents include some correspondence of the Rev. Robert Eyres Landor, author of Fawn of Sertorius and Fountain of Arethusa, etc. (see D.N.B) and also contain a few casual references to Walter Savage Landor, author (see D.N.B).
Besides papers of the Landor family itself the collection contains papers of families connected with them by marriage including the families of Hicken, Noble, Rishton, Wilson, Weston, Backhouse, Litler, Lowe, Venour.
