Roll of Honour(de Ruvigny) Vol II, Sect II, p 172: son of John William Robson of 18 Church Sq, Harrogate, Asst Stationmaster at Harrogate, NE Railway Stn by his wife Jessie, d. of Robt Fowler. Born York 23/7/1895; educ Scarcroft Council Sch, York and Kirkstall Rd Sch, Leeds; empl by Messrs Holt & Co, Leeds, a firm of wholesale drapers; joing W Riding Fld Amb, RAMC 12/5/1912; served BEF F&F from 13/4/1915, ret UK June 1917 and after period of training was gazetted 2Lt 5Bn MGC 25/1/1918. Ret F&F in June and died Nr Arras from wounds rec in action at Arras the previous day. Buried Longuevillers Cem, SW of Arras. He was awarded the MM for gallantry in the field, rescuing wounded under shell fire on the Somme on the nights of 3-4 July 1916. Unmarried.
