Administrative / biographical background

The Royal York Lodge No. 315 was established in 1797 and met at the Old Tree Inn, Broad Street, Seaford, Sussex. In 1797 the lodge was named the Royal Cinque Port Lodge. The lodge was renamed the Royal York Lodge in 1823 when the lodge moved from Seaford to Brighton, meeting at the Royal York Hotel, Old Steine, Brighton. The lodge now meets at the Sussex Masonic Centre, Queen's Road, Brighton.
