Church notes by John Green Waller and Lionel B. Waller. Three volumes:-
Vol. I. Notes taken in 1837-8, mostly relating to the Home Counties but including a few notes relating to Suffolk and Norfolk, etc. With some coloured coats of arms. Notes, fols. 218-19, of 'Brasses drawn & engraveable 26 Jany 1840' and note, 31 Jan. 1841, that 372 brasses were described 'in this volume'. Index of places, fol. 216;-
Vol. II. Rubbings of shields in churches. Indexes of names, places and miscellaneous items, fols. iii-xii;- Vol. III. Notes taken in 1839-56 in various counties, together with a few foreign notes relating to Belgium (fols. 148v-51). Letter (fols. 148a-c) of H. W. King to J. G. Waller, 11 Aug. 1855, relating to the remains of the brass of one of the Giffords lost from the church of Bowers Gifford, Essex. Index, fols. iii-iv.
The Waller brothers published A Series of Monumental Brasses (issued in fascicules 1840-64); see also the reprint with introduction by John A. Goodall, FSA (1975). Drawings by J. G. Waller, and others, presented in 1905, are in SA Prints and Drawings Collections. Brass rubbings by the Waller brothers are in SA Brass Rubbings Collections (Waller folder).
