Description

This group of records comprises correspondence to and from the East India Company (1600-1858) and the Board of Commissioners for the Affairs of India (1784-1858) with the Company's various settlements and Presidencies throughout Asia, government departments and European houses of agency. In addition to this it also contains numerous petitions, memorials and letters from individuals and lobby groups covering a diverse range of subjects.

These records have been arranged into four distinct series:.
