- After the death of recording artist David Robert Jones also known as David Bowie on January 11th 2016 tributes in the form of flowers, notes, art and graffiti were left at his mural in Brixton on the Morley’s department store. By January 13th approximately 5,000 people had gathered around the painting, leaving various tributes. This is a small collection of the tributes that were salvaged after most of the items were damaged by rain. This collection includes a small amount of poems, illustrations, thank you cards and notes left by grieving fans.

David Robert Jones, professionally known as David Bowie was a recording artist and actor active from the 1960?s to 2016. He was known as a creative innovator in music and the performing arts and spent his childhood on Stansfield Road, Brixton; where he lived from the age of 6. During his music career he sold over 140 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
He passed away on January 11th 2016. Tributes in the form of flowers, notes, art and graffiti were left at his mural in Brixton on the Morley?s department store.
