Appointment and Grant for £125 : William Cunliffe Shaw late of Great Singleton, now of Southgate, co. Middlesex, esq. to James Bourne of Stalmin within Stalmin within Stanoe, with Stanoe, esq. -- yearly rent of £4.19.8 issuing out of the Manor of Stalmin and out of property formerly belonging to Richard Butler of Rawcliffe, Esq., in Stalmin cum Stanoe and Hambleton -- purchased by William Shawe late of Preston, gent., great-uncle of W.C.S. from Thomas Clayton of Adlington, gent., and Richard Clayton, son and heir of T.C. Recites lease and release, 26/27 Jun. 1771, between (i) Sir Robert Cunliffe of City of Chester, bart., (ii) W.C.S., (iii) William Shawe, the elder and W.S. the younger of Preston, gents. (iv) John Hankinson and John Cross of Preston, gents.
