Administrative / biographical background

The Britannic Lodge was established in 1772 and met at the Buck Inn, St Ann's Staith, Witby, Yorkshire. The lodge was named the Britannic Lodge in 1785. In 1773 the lodge moved to the Plough Inn, Church Street, Whitby and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1790.
