These records were deposited in a number of consignments beginning in Apr 1972

Administrative / biographical background

The families were involved in their communities in a number of capacities - school governors, parish councillors, justice of the peace, churchwarden and overseers of the poor, membership of committees such as the War Agricultural Committees, Belgian Refugee Committee. Much of the material in this collection consists of the papers accumulated whilst in office. Also included are family correspondence, political papers, sale catalogues, and other papers.
