Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty throughout more than a fortnight's fighting, especially one night and day when his section was under terrific bombardment and he succeeded in keeping thorough control, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. He was of great assistance throughout to the battalion commander in maintaining communication with various units, and although far from well he stuck to his work until ordered to go sick, when his company was relieved.;
