Engraver, son of William and Ann Taylor of Worcester. Employed in London by Thos Jefferys, the geographer, whose niece, Sarah Hackshaw Jefferys, he married in 1754, but worked mainly as a book illustrator. Fellow of the Society of Artists 1765; appointed Secretary to the Society in 1774. Retired soon after 1780 to Edmonton (Mx) where he died.
