Description: From 1850 onwards letters received and letters sent were arranged under general subject headings, e.g. Arabian Coast and Persian Gulf, Slave Trade, Commercial and General etc; correspondence in each section was then bound chronologically. Separate volumes of secret correspondence and Native letters were still kept although some secret correspondence is to be found in the general series.
