Abstract of title of the Right Hon. John William Earl of Bridgewater deceased to property in Ellesmere. -

18 and 19 July 1722 Settlement on marriage of Scroop Duke of Bridgewater and Lady Rachel Russel, eldest daughter of the late Duke of Bedford. Conveyance in trust of manors of Ellesmere and St. John, the advowson of Ellesmere, manors of Blackmere, Whitchurch, Doddington and Lineal, Salop

Easter term 1758 Recovery on manors of Ellesmere and St John, 250 messuages, 5 water mills, 10 dove-houses, 250 gardens, 3,000 acres land, 600 acres meadow, 1,000 acres pasture, 300 acres wood, 2,000 acres heath, 2,000 acres moor, 500 acres marsh, 300 acres covered with water, £14 rents, common of pasture, free fishing, free warren, fairs etc, and the advowsons of Whitchurch and Ellesmere.

28 January 1803 Will of Francis Duke of Bridgewater

10 August 1803 Conveyance of these manors and property in co Bedford and Lancashire to create tenant for a recovery

August 44 George III Recovery on the same property

31 August 1803 Conveyance of same in trust

31 March 1823 Will of John William Earl of Bridgewater, as far as related to his Shropshire estates
