Present: Capt Luby MoS; Mr Saxton Armstrong Siddeley Motors; Sir Marshal Sir A Coryton CS (A); Mr Schoel D/Derd; to name but a few of the 23 attending. Minutes: Python running times now a total of 6234 hours. It was decided that bench development testing contracts should cover all types of engines, tests and conversions. This would obviate the issue of small separate contracts. Contracts should be segregated into the folowing categories: 1 Supply of engines. 2 Bench development testing. 3 Flight including aircraft conversions. Flying test beds: AST Lancastrian. 2 engine delivered November 1949. HP Hastings: Delivery of engines February 1950. AST Meteor. English Electric No aircraft has been delivered. Prototype aircraft: Gloster F4/48; HP B35/46; Vickers F3/48; Hawker F3/48; AWA E.16/49. Ground test rig: Vickers; Sapphire review. Python: Running times now totals 6234 hours. Wyvern Vp.109; Wyvern trainer. Mamba AS.Ma.1 & 2 AS.Ma.3 & 4. Apollo. Marathon. 1270hp engine. Aircraft: Apollo, Dakota, Sturgeon, Balliol. Double Mamba test position. Aircraft installation: Fairey GR.17/45; Blakburn GR.17/45; Airspeed Ambassador. Adder. Australian engines: Viper. Rocket: Estimated date for Special category test 27 January 1950. Hawker machine, alterations to aircraft proceeding. Design of 4,000 lb rocket; Contract for manufacturer. Nitric acid as alternative to liquid oxygen.Safety measures at test house. Cheetah: Handley Page and Percival. Accommodation at Bitteswell: Capt Luby stated, if possible, he would arrange to share space with NGTE. At the end of the report there are a number of appendix listing engines by number and their application.
