Dorman Long & Co. Ltd. - General Managers file on Chien Tang Bridge, Hanchow, China

Correspondence and internal memos regarding the construction of the Chien Tang Bridge across the Chien Tang river at Hanchow. Dorman Long were contracted to construct and erect the steel spans used in the bridge. The correspondence and memos indicate that the bridge was blown-up (only 4 days after completion) by Chinese Armed Forces and discuss the implications this has on payments to be made to Dorman Long; Commemorative brochure for the 'Chien tang River Bridge', dated May 1937. The brochure was produced for the visit by the members of the Engineering Society of China and contains captioned B&W images explaining the process of building the bridge.
