Description

The detailed background to these papers - how they passed from Moore family in the 17th century to the hands of the Stewart family of Alltynody, Llandyssil, North Wales, in the 19th century is given in J. Brownbill A Calendar of that part of the Collection of Deeds and Papers of the Moore Family...now in the Liverpool Public Library, 1913 (Record Society of Lancashire and Cheshire, Vol. 67) pp.V-X. Brownbill also describes the growth of local interest in these papers and gives details of the Sotheby's sale.
