This collection comprises eight bound volumes gathering together printed paper reports, press cuttings, photographs, and manuscripts relating to Economic Botany. Some relate in particular to medicinal plants such as Leprosy Plants, African Arrow Poison and Camphor. The others relate to other uses of plants, either for consumption such as Cocoa and for a wider usage such as Palm Oil. One particular volume deals with Fruit Fly and its effect on fruit crops.
Each volume represents a single series on its own: ECB/1/1 treats with Leprosy plants (1920-1928); ECB/2/1 Africa Arrow Poison (1876-1901); ECB/3/1 Fruit fly (1896-1908) and its effect on fruit crops; ECB/4/1 Cacao (1913-1928); ECB/5/1 Efwata-kala Grass (1921-1925); ECB/6/1 Camphor (1892-1928); ECB/7/1 Pita (1902-1925); ECB/8/1 Oil Palm (1876-1913).
