(1) pp. 1-283, Extracts from Bengal Consultations 17th Jan. 1780--11th Nov. 1782, Case of John McClary, Commander of the Dodalay Privateer, charged with Piracy against Portuguese and Chinese vessels and of the murder of Malay prisoners, in company with Capt. James Bracey (Deceased) of the Death and Glory Privateer, of which he was acquitted at Calcutta, John O'Donnell, Captain of Marines on the Death and Glory, being sent for trial to Madras and there acquitted. (2) p. 3, Declaration by John Day, Advocate-General, that the Government of Bengal has no power to grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, but may give commissions to Commanders of Vessels belonging to or employed by the Company to act offensively as well as defensively against the enemy 21st Jan. 1780. (3) pp. 285-309, Extracts from Bengal Consultations 15th Feb. to 8th March 1779, Case of James Parks, Captain of the Favorite, charged with Piracy committed upon a Malay vessel, under Dutch colours and with a Dutch Pass in April 1777 in the Straits of Banaca.
