Sapphire Sa.4 in preference to the RA-14. Order for 25 bombers is now being considered by the Treasury. This would mean 100 Sapphire engines plus spare engines - a total of some 130 engines. Rocket motors: The Handley Page bomber, operating under tropical conditions, will require take-off and initial climb boost rockets. of using a simplified Screamer unit in a jettison-able parachute-equipped pod
