Description

A collection of 11 loose prints, the majority captioned in pencil on the reverse. The prints are tightly rolled, from having been stored in the original metal postal tube, which was sent from Quetta to London by Gunner Attenborough of the Royal Artillery on 21 October 1892. Prints 1-3 are military scenes and portraits (two showing members of a military band); the remainder are commercial views of Quetta, the Sukkur Bridge and scenes in the Khojak Pass. Prints 4-5 are panoramic views composed of two joined prints. Process = Albumen prints, printing-out paper. Photographers = Frederick Bremner and other(s) unknown,;.
