Two volumes of "Correspondence relative to the mission of Basil Viscount Feilding as Ambassador Extraordinary to the Duke and State of Venice and other Italian Princes. In two Volumes, Vol 1. From 1635-1638/9. Selected and arranged by William Hamper F.S.A. June 11th 1827"
All the letters asterisked have been printed in whole or in part or abstracts of their contents have been made in the H.M.C.'S VIth Report. The numbering follows that of the H.M.C. Report; those documents not included in the Report and not therefore numbered hitherto have been given 'A' and 'B' numbers. The letters in the first volume are for the most part addressed to Lord Feilding from England; the majority of those in volume two were written by Sir Gilbert Talbot who was left in charge of the Embassy in Venice on Lord Feilding's return to England in May 1639.
