Title (The name of the record)
- Letter from Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor, Ely Place, to Sir William More, Edmund Saunders and George More. They, with Sir Thomas Browne, Robert Fourth, DL, and John Cooper, serjeant of law, were appointed commissioners to 'hear and determine' a case in Chancery between Edward Gateward et al, plaintiffs, and Richard Bostock, defendant. The other three commissioners have given their opinion that Bostock should pay the 200 marks to the plaintiff but the addressees dissented, without giving their reasons. They are asked to provide their reasons and views without delay so that the Court may 'proceed according to equity and justice'.
