Folio 307. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to Walter May Barton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt on 2 January 1880 of the form of queries containing the particulars of the appointment of Fanny Reynolds to the office of schoolmistress and given their consent to the appointment. They give their approval to the payment to her of a salary of £25 per annum and a further payment of 1s per week in lieu of beer. They request that on the expiration of three months they are to be furnished with a report from the guardians stating their opinion of the manner in which she performs the duties of her office.
