As follows:-
(a) Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington to Thomas Assheton Smith, Esq., 1832-1850. Nine letters of a private nature.
(b) Sir Robert Peel to the same. Two letters, the first undated but bearing the postmark of 1842, arranging an interview, the second, also undated, referring to an address from Carnarvon borough, and ending "I cannot regret having been burned in effigy, when the flames excited so gratifying a demonstration in my favour".
(c) Thomas Moore, Poet, to Mrs. Heneage. Three letters, the first dated Sloperton, 28 November, 1838, the others undated.
(d) H. G. Smith (probably Gen. Sir Harry George Wakelin Smith, Bart., victor of Aliwal against the Sikhs in 1846, Governor of the Cape in 1847, later commemorated by the names of the towns of Harrismith, Ladysmith, etc.) to T. A. Smith, beginning "My dear Mr. Smith" to whom he sends two swords for him to select one, 10 May, 1847.
(e) Sir William Frederick Williams (M.P. for Calne) to G. H. W. Heneage, United Service Club, 17 March, 1857.
(f) George, Duke of Cambridge, to T. A. Smith, St. James's Palace (undated).
(g) Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge (d. 1850) to the same (?), accepting an invitation to dinner: Cambridge Cottage, Kew, 9 October, 1848.
(h) Louis Philippe, ex-King of France. "It is with great pleasure that I give this autograph to the charitable object which the Ladies of Esher have placed under their benevolent patronage. L.P."; Claremont, 10 June, 1848.
(i) An empty envelope addressed to Lady Grove, marked on the back "Queen Adelaide".
