Mortgage by demise for 1000 years (commencing 15 July 1822), to secure £300 at 5% interest, from David Hodgson of Coventry, plasterer and John Carter of Coventry, gent (trustee of the mortgagor) to Thomas White of Coventry, butcher of, (1) a house occupied as three apartments on the East side of Little Park Street, Coventry, occupied previously by John Shakespear, later by Jame [illegible] and Edward Waters, since of Thomas Baker, Richard Hill and Joseph Smith and widow [illegible] late of Richard Hill, James Holmes, Joseph Coleman, Joseph Smith and Thomas Watson, now of David Hodgson and William Wells; (2) a house built on the back yard of the above tenements previously occupied by Matthew Payne the younger now of John Hill. Boundaries of (1) and (2) a house occupied by John Carter deceased, then by Thomas Bird, late of Thomas Greenaway, to the North; a newly built house occupied by Mary Brickfield, then Ann Latham, spinster now of William Stevenson, schoolmaster, to the South; a garden, property of Thomas Harris on the East. Interest to be paid on 16 January yearly. If there is any default in payment the mortgagors are to convey the property to the mortgagee. Property to be insured in the Hope Fire Office, London, for £300. Usual covenants. Note of receipt of consideration by morthagor.
