Settlement on the intended marriage of John Basse jun. of Keinton gent. and Elizabeth daughter of Valentine Lane of Dodford, Northant gent being a lease for 20 years at a peppercorn rent from the said John Basse jun. in consideration of a marriage portion of £500 to the said Valentine Lane and John Lane of Dodford, Northants., gent. of a copyhold messuage and 2 yardlands in Keinton, being part of 4¼ yardlands then used with the said messuage, in trust for the said John and Elizabeth and their heirs. The other 2¼ yardlands and a close called Moores close were excepted, as they were intended to be conveyed for a term of years as security for the payment of £20 per annum to John Basse sen. and Mary his wife.
