Description (What the record is about)
-
He is in a low state of health and therefore appeals to Powys for help - he is in distress for want of wine which is absolutely necessary for his health. Sir Harry Furnesses promised to take care of some for him from Holland - in return for a parcel of 5 dozen which Gwyn procured for him in the winter when he was in distress and for the kindness of the £5000. He asks Powys to procure 5 or 10 dozen from him and send them down by the waggoner "it would be a great refeife to me at present for I cannot subsist without two or three glasses at dinner and our country doth not afford one drop.." He asks him to write to Dawson to send Gwyn a hogshead he has at present in Ireland and to talk to Mr. Cullyford to see if he can get it in at Bristol.
Post script. He also asks for a packet of Bohee Tea.
Docketed in Powys's hand.
